The Alberta Cancer Foundation on February 14 launched the Underwear Affair, a fundraising event designed to create awareness of cancers that occur "below the waist." Runners will dress down on Saturday June 9, 2007. Runs will take place across Canada in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal. (Check website for dates.)
The purpose for the Underwear Affair is to raise money and awareness for those cancers below the waist that get covered up (by your undies or otherwise) and are never talked about. So the Alberta Cancer Foundation is out to lift the taboo and shed some light on this important cause.
The charitable run and walk will raise research funds for testicular, ovarian, cervical and prostate cancers. For more information, go to www.uncoverthecure.org
