As I've mentioned here already in the past few days, Jameswinston Co. has redesigned their entire line of underwear to look better, feel better and enhance your package better than last year's line. We tried out the first version of underwear they offered last year, so we've been very interested to see what they've produced in this new line. They shipped me a sample of the new design of the Jameswinston Co. New Classic Rib trunk that is part of their upcoming "Second Generation" line.
First, Brian over at Jameswinston Co. knows that the first step to catching my eye in a pair of underwear is to offer great color options. If you've read UndiesDrawer for any period of time, you know that I like blue underwear, and Jameswinston Co. shipped me a blue New Classic Rib trunk that is beyond great in its color options. Their gallery of the upcoming lines calls this muted dark blue color "jean" and there are several other colors available, all in muted, rich tones, including cloud (lighter blue), heather (purple), mint (green), soda pink (pink/red), and dark sand (yellow). If you want bolder colors, shoot for the new NEON line from Jameswinston Co., but for me, I''m completely satisfied with these muted colors. Great stuff! Actually, I find the gallery photo of the "jean" blue washed out -- this other promotional photo of the jean New Classic Rib under actual jeans is much more representative of this well-defined color. In addition, the New Classic Rib has contrast stitching on the underwear, so this jean blue New Classic Rib has crimson stitching that really stands out and gives the underwear a crisp look.
But how do they feel? Let's put it this way -- when I put them on for the first time, I actually unintentionally blurted out "Wow!" under my breath. I try out lots of underwear -- I mean, LOTS of underwear -- and honestly, I'm often unimpressed. With so many underwear designers going for the petite fit on everything these days, it seems that the average Joe has a hard time finding underwear that just fits and feels good. But I'm here to say that this new Jameswinston Co. "Second Generation" New Classic Rib underwear meets my tests. It slides on with a feeling of comfort and quality. It doesn't get in the way, but simply supports and wears like trunk underwear is supposed to wear. It didn't ride up like so many trunks and boxers briefs do -- well, it didn't ride up until day 3 of wearing. I've made reference to this, but I actually wore these trunks 2 days straight because they were so comfortable. As I got into day 3, they started to ride up a little, but you can't blame that on the undies when they're into day 3.
This Jameswinston Co. "Second Generation" line also includes the new ProFIL panel. Brian James from Jameswinston Co. has explained the ProFil panel by saying that the idea with the ProFIL panel was to design something other than a "front panel" that held your package too tight or too loose. In order to avoid this problem, they doubled the material to add support and wick away moisture. In doing so, they also worked to create a shape for the panel that would most emphasize your God-given assets in the most natural way possible. Jameswinston Co., after finding in market research that guys wanted to look big but didn't want to deal with gadget underwear, worked through several fit tests to try to find the panel that helps your package look as good as "humanly" possible without gimmicks or tricks, and they think they've done that in the ProFIL panel. Honestly, in my wearing, I wasn't paying too much attention to how my bulge looked because I was so overwhelmed by the look and the feel of the underwear, so at this time I can't really render an opinion. I'll keep you posted on this point.
All in all, I'm shocked at how much I like the Jameswinston Co. "Second Generation" New Classic Rib trunk men's underwear. I tend to be critical and can find something wrong with underwear, as you've probably noticed by my lack of ability to give perfect scores on underwear, but Jameswinston Co. has a winner on its hands in this instance. These aren't on sale yet, but as soon as they go live, we'll let you know.
MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Jameswinston Co. "Second Generation" New Classic Rib trunk underwear a total score of 10 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 10 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10)
