Kreso Gotovac, 31, is the director/owner of Ballbra -- a futuristic and high tech underwear that promise a unique wearing experience. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Kreso divides his time between there and Split, Croatia.
We sat down recently with Kreso to talk about Ballbra underwear.
UD: What brand, style and color underwear do you have on right now?
KG: White/Boxer Ballbra Model- size L

UD: What's your favorite pair you own?
KG: My favorite pair is my favorite lineup, the Ballbra boxers.
UD: What did you do before designing and selling underwear?
KG: Before entering the global underwear market, I was (and currently still am) within the information and communications technology field, working on large projects with the United Nations and large vendors in the Croatian market.
UD: How did the idea for Ballbra start? How'd you come up with the name?
KG: This is a question everyone wants to know. The idea came to me in August 2005, during our yearly catamaran boat cruise around the beautiful Adriatic islands in Croatia. Stopping on the island of Korcula, we had gone swimming on one of the local beaches. While lying on the beach I saw a gentleman's balls fall from his underwear as he was changing in front of me. I thought straight away, this man needs a Ballbra and the design hit me immediately. Then I thought about how underwear these days has no excitement. I felt there was room for a new product such as a Ballbra. After much design and testing, Ballbra also came to be known as the world’s first ultimate sex underwear for men. Soon after arriving at my office from the trip, I met with my team and created the Ballbra lineup which is globally recognized today.
UD: How long have you been in business?
KG: The Ballbra has been selling since August 2006.
UD: What do you like most about designing and selling underwear?
KG: The underwear business was entirely new to me, but after seeing how small the world of underwear is, it was amazing to become part of it. I never thought selling underwear would be so much fun. Since our global launch in March 2007, we have had a great response and a great following. Regarding design, this area is endless. As you can see in the markets today, there is an endless amount of underwear with colors and patterns, but NO design idea. The Ballbra is, as one customer wrote to us, "thinking outside the box." We agree with that and are growing with that thinking. Seeing the Ballbra underwear at first seems shocking to everyone. However, after trying it on and actually having fun with the underwear, it makes you think about what you have been missing. Basically I see design lacking in the underwear market. This is one of the main reasons I had to push ahead with the Ballbra idea and make it a household name.
UD: What trends do you see in men's underwear today?
KG: As I mentioned in my answer before, the trends today are lacking inspiration and innovation. When has men’s underwear undergone any change since the invention in the 13th century? Well, it has undergone changes from briefs to boxers, but never has there been a change as the Ballbra lineup is offering. In today's market, people buy underwear so they are comfortable and maybe look good, but never has someone bought underwear and had some form of excitement from them, until today with Ballbra underwear. Trying them gets you giggling, then after one or two days, you come to love them as I and many others do.
UD: How long did it take to develop the initial design for Ballbra and how long did it take to bring it to market?
KG: The Ballbra has been through so many stages that I cannot even keep track of it. The initial design and testing took approximately eight months to finalize and complete as sold today. There was no rush to get it on the market, as it was made to be perfect and exiting for the market. It was not something we wanted to make a thousand colors and patterns of and try to sell to mass markets around the world. We wanted it to be something new that everyone can enjoy. This is the reason we only offer Ballbra through top resellers/retailers around the globe.
UD: When designing the underwear, how did you make sure that the design is comfortable to wear? How many iterations do you have to go through to find the fit you were looking for?
KG: Comfort of the Ballbra is the reason we had no rush to get it out on market immediately. When we first tested our Ballbra prototypes on selected individuals, we noticed that comfort has to be first as the design and comfort is felt once worn. Our prototypes went through many changes and alterations until the right measurement was found for different sizes of individuals.
UD: What's the oddest question/request you've received about Ballbra?
KG: Just looking at the Ballbra underwear gets everyone talking and asking how it feels and what it does. The questions received in our mailbox have been quite interesting. We take every request or question serious, as we want everyone to be part of the Ballbra family. But the most interesting questions started back in 2006. We realized that we needed to offer a custom size option which is handmade for customers that sent us photos and requests to help them. The requests and questions which arrive daily do not shock us at all. We are prepared to answer any question. Since our underwear is described to be used while making love or masturbating gets everyone asking how that works. It’s very simple, you just need to try it!

UD: What's next for you and Ballbra?
KG: Since the successful launch of Ballbra, we are pushing ahead with very specific models, keeping comfort and design change in mind. We are also now in our testing phase of a new underwear called the “UP.” It will be found at underwearpockets.com. In the new year, this will be an addition to our Ballbra lineup and we hope to continue to offer men a choice and design change which no one has offered before. Underwear needs to be fun, and believe me, after trying the Ballbra, you would never expect that wearing underwear could be so much fun. This is the reason we have had such a great response and the Ballbra is something I am proud to offer.
UD: Where can UndiesDrawer readers purchase Ballbra underwear?
KG: Our Ballbra lineup is now offered in six countries worldwide. The U.K. and U.S. markets are our largest. We also ship worldwide from our Ballbra webshop.
