Your Daily 'Brief'

I trust everyone had a good and safe weekend. While for some this is a holiday I still thought it was important to bring you your daily brief.  Plus it gave me something to do while I was sucking back my coffee this morning.

A few weeks ago I ran a poll on my blog and I asked the question, "What Style of Underwear Do You Prefer?" and I offered two options, "Solid Colours" or "Funky Patterns".  The reason why I had thought to ask this was because I had purchased a pair of undies that I think were just cut or sized wrong and were too small for me to wear so I gave them to a close friend of mine.

While my friend does wear that style/brand of undies, these were patterned and he had never worn a pair of patterned undies before.

I took a second to think about that and realised I had never thought about pattern versus solid colour.

The results of my poll were that 74% of my readers preferred solid coloured underwear and then the 26% remaining preferred funky patterns.

I, of course, wanted to delve into this more because I do find it curious as to the ins and outs and of course why we feel this way about our underwear.

So for those of you reading this, I would really like to ask you what do you prefer, solid colour or funky patterns.

But do not think I am not going to let you off that easy.

If you prefer solid colours then tell us what colours you will and will not wear.

Same thing for the funky patterns, what patterns turn your crank and what turn your stomach.

We all know that while we may have our specific tastes in underwear it may not be clearly visible to someone else what our tastes are.

Just to speak to that I did find out that even though my friend had always preferred solid colour undies, he did really like the patterned pair I gave him, but he will only wear undies that have a white waistband.

I go for both patterns and solids. Simple patterns, stripes, mix of colors nothing that is too outlandish. If a solid I want a darker color (no pastels please) but something other than white, black, or grey. For some reason a maroon base with white trim is a favorite, though hard to find.

I mostly have solid colors with accenting colors on the waistband (like 2xist bold). Mostly I like ones where white dominates. I have a few black pairs that I basically where when dressing up. Then I have a number of "various" colors that are pretty much all over the place.

I'm not opposed to patterns though, just seems that I don't often see patterns I like.

I used to think there was almost no color/pattern that I would be completely against but the pastel pink CIN2 that freshpair has started selling crossed the line for me. They may look hot on the model, but I find it hard to imagine me in them looking like anything other than a weirdo.

That same friend that I talked about in today's 'Brief' has a pair of the Pink Aussie Bum briefs and they look really hot on him - I myself am kind of anxious to get my butt in a pair of the C-IN2 Pink!

I am pretty cool with wearing them - I mean if someone else sees them and has a problem with them then they gotta go!

But I would say that if someone were to see them when I wear my shorts or jeans low - if I can cause a little controversy, because when I go out I do not look like the guy that would wear pink underwear, I am all for it!
