In recent months, we've noticed some events that led us to believe that RIPS, historically one of my favorite underwear companies, was either in trouble as a company or was changing directions.
Today, I got word that RIPS is now defunct. I have nothing substantive to confirm this, but I've checked around and several sources are confirming that from everything they're hearing, this fun mens underwear brand, made famous by its drawstring brief that had some great sex appeal but later producing such great lines as RIPS Extreme and more, is no longer in business. Please comment on this post if you know something otherwise.
If you're a RIPS fan, it's time to start buying up the remainder of the stock that the underwear stores are still holding. The word is that it will probably sell off quickly at this point and probably be gone by the end of the summer.
