Johnny Underscore Reviews the Score Underwear Sports Brief
With a cut, rise and pouch style similar to the Calvin Klein Body hip brief and the C-IN2 low no show brief, the Score Underwear Sports Brief offers more than adequate support for guys who spend as much of their day moving as they do sitting.
Score Underwear's product line is fairly high-end and even fairly high concept but it's decidedly masculine and rugged.
Sturdy cotton, well assembled, always makes for the kind of underwear a guy can wear the whole work day and even for an evening workout in perfect comfort. The brief keeps its shape well after several hours of wear. The pouch even holds up nicely after a long day, keeping a guy's goods supported but by no means hidden throughout the day.
The only discernible construction flaw seemed to be the seam on the pouch. The fabric is very hearty and some stitching inside the double-layered pouch is noticeable from the front of the briefs. (If the fabric were sheer it might look like a very prominent vein actually.) This seam somewhat spoiled the pouch's silhouette but it wasn't at all uncomfortable.
These briefs are fairly low-rise but they do offer full coverage. The rise is low enough that the waistband likely wouldn't show above the waistband of mid-rise jeans. This is actually a shame because the waistband is artful but subtle with a simple blue line in the center.
Sexy insomuch as they're masculine and somewhat package enhancing, the Score Underwear Sports Brief is ideal for both work and gym but perhaps not ostentatious enough to wear on date night. Unless, that is, it's a gym date.
Do pay close attention to Score Underwear's size chart. A small is for waist sizes 27-29, so these sports briefs run a bit small. This will be a plus for some men, of course, but be sure to keep this in mind when choosing which size to order. The thick cotton fabric doesn't have much stretch to it. The pouch will have ample room for most guys but the "showers" out there may need to opt for one size up from their usual.
Score Underwear's fabric and care tags are just the reverse side of the front logo tag. It's comfortable and doesn't scratch or. Hairier guys won't notice it in the least. Like its cousin, the Score Underwear Thong, the Score Underwear Sports Brief requires little TLC laundry-wise. Machine wash warm, no bleach. Tumble dry low. Easy fabric care always adds to an undergarment's appeal. Underwear that's easy to clean tends to find its way into a guy's rotation more often.
