Check out Carlos! He's a student from Monterey, California, and he just won a trip to New York City by winning his place as a finalist in Undergear's Model Star contest that they're sponsoring this summer and fall with Instinct Magazine, Joica, Hotel Mela and David Barton Gym. The San Francisco live contest was held July 27, and Carlos won that event to move onto the finals in New York City set for October 10, 2008.

You too could be a part of this contest. There will be three more open call live contest events -- one in Los Angeles on August 21, one in Chicago on September 12, and a third in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale on a date to be announced in late September. The winners of all 4 live contest will get to take part in the finale in New York City. The ultimate winner will appear on the cover of the Spring 2009 UnderGear catalog and also appear on an upcoming cover and fashion spread in Instinct Magazine. Very cool!

Even if you can't make it to one of the live events, they will actually let you submit info, including photos and videos, to be considered as an online finalist. To enter, you must be a man over age 21, a contiguous US resident, and not a professional model. You can fill out a questionnaire at InstinctMagazine.com (also linked from UnderGear.com) and submit two photos and a YouTube video link to be considered by their professional judges in the retail and publishing indutry for a spot as an online contest.

Visitors to InstinctMagazine.com (and linked from UnderGear.com) will have a chance to participate to vote to choose the online finalist from all the online contestants. Every 2 weeks, a new set of contenders chosen by the judges will be put up live on the Undergear website, and you can cast your vote on them to help choose a semi-finalist. The second set of contenders is online for voting right now. Once four semi-finalists have been chosen through the online voting system, all four will be put up for one last online vote to choose one as a finalist. That online finalist will be flown to New York City to compete alongside the live contest finalists for the big win.

Either enter or vote -- but, regardless, this is a fun contest open to everyone, and I look forward to seeing who wins. But, in my opinion, Carlois is a great first pick!
