"It's a swimsuit."
"No, it's underwear."
No, panTz is both a bathing suit and underwear.
British men's underwear makers Life iZ panTz hits the mark with their underwear/swimwear hybrid panTz.
The design is simple enough: knit material put together in a very basic trunk shape. In a solid color this may not be very interesting, but a funky, bold rainbow pattern give panTz some real pizzazz. The basic cut of these trunks is so basic that it requires a close look to determine front from back (a close inspection reveals that the front has a very subtle pouch feature). Once you slip the trunks on, the ambiguous design is easy to get past. The knit material is just stretchy enough to make room for a guy's goods and even display them a bit.
This bare-bones, almost shapeless design goes a long way with the material and the colors Life iZ panTz chose for these trunks. They don't have waistband to speak of -- just a thin elastic band in white. The leg bands are put together the same way. What makes panTz sexy is the way they hang on a man's body. They let a man's hips and butt and package do all the work. This is a valid departure from the more stylized trends in men's underwear today. It may not suit every taste but there's certainly room for men's underwear that takes this approach to shape.
panTz are quite comfortable, even after a day of wear. They provide about the same level of support as most men's trunks. The thicker knit material actually make them nice winter underwear. panTz don't have a care and feeding tag.
These colorful, hybrid trunks are not for the shy. It's not that they're especially revealing of a guy's anatomy; it's that they're revealing of his personality. They're the perfect underwear for the guy who finds himself in need of a bathing suit because he doesn't want to ruin his expensive designer underwear (like most Undies Drawer readers). panTz work well under jeans but are probably too colorful to wear under sheer, light-colored pants.
While they're available in 13 varieties of colorful stripe schemes, they come in only one size, designed to fit a 33-inch waist or smaller.
panTz are £24.67 each (US$39.51), including shipping worldwide. Buy 4 panTz for £18.50 (US$29.63) each, including shipping worldwide.
